How About a Retreat?

If you are looking for a way to reconnect with your husband or wife, this GoodTrade article has some ideas on where to do it. They list five top resorts for couples retreats.

Here is their list:

The Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, for couples looking for workshops on relationship skills or personal transformation. You’ll find lots of choices in lodging types and workshops, and the setting is gorgeous.

Red Mountain Resort in St. George, Utah, for active and adventurous couples. Combine hiking and biking with massage, swimming, and cooking classes.

Lake Austin Spa Resort in Lake Austin, Texas, for couples who want to reconnect with nature, themselves, and each other. It’s an all-inclusive luxury resort with paddle boarding, boxing classes, morning sound baths, live music, gourmet dining, and a top-notch spa.

Firelight Camp Retreats in Ithaca, New York, for yogi couples looking for a digital detox. Yoga classes, glamping, sauna, steam bath, and walks in the forest await the two of you during their three-day yoga weekends.

Hotel Joaquin in Laguna Beach, California offers cozy, vintage rooms with balconies overlooking the beach and the Pacific Ocean. Morning yoga and all of the equipment for biking and fun in the water are included, as are a pool and a spa.

Of course, you can get away together just about anywhere, on any budget. For my husband and me, a weekend at Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, Massachusetts is always restorative and gives us lots to do and lots to talk about, a combination of nature and living history with incredible, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.

Where have you been that would make a great place to relax and play together, to turn toward each other again, to set aside the rest of life to focus on each other’s strengths well-being and remember why you chose each other?
