Happy New Year!
Let me begin with some gratitude. This has been an especially tough year for me, and I want to say a huge thank you to my husband of 23 years for picking up the slack on so many of my chores and for all his kindnesses as I dealt with my challenges. I have great hopes for 2026, now that I am well again and moving past the crushing grief of this year’s loss of another four special friends and another two relatives.
Gratitude, too, for you who read this blog and let me know when something I write helps you strengthen your love and appreciation for the life partner you’ve chosen. And much hope that your 2026 will be even better, especially if the last few months have been especially challenging.
To those of you who married this year, thank you. It’s hard to see up close, but from a distance, every marriage and every couple that finds their way back from the brink of divorce contributes greatly to the health of our society, to the connections that make us all—single or married—stronger, safer, and healthier. My hope for you in 2026 is a deepening love and understanding of that very special person you chose to marry. Enjoy!
